The Phantom Phoenix

Martin Claver struggles to find his place in the world. He suffered a debilitating leg injury as an ace fighter pilot in World War I and is rejected by society. Without the support of family or the ability to work, Martin is a homeless veteran roaming the streets of Chicago, living off of scraps of food he finds.

That is, until he rises from the ashes.

Meet Josephine Wilson

Josephine Wilson is a trailblazer on the Chicago Police Department. She is enlisted to help patrol the back alleys and streets, finding lost children, and helping protect homeless women and girls from the recent rise in crime. She starts to suspect corruption among her fellow police officers, but nobody will listen to her.

Then her world is turned upside down when she runs into a mysterious vigilante who is in need of her help.

The Story - Issue 2

"The Phantom Frame-Up"

After a narrow escape, Martin Claver is now in the crosshairs of crooked cops and nefarious Flambeau, both searching for a way to put an end to the Phantom Phoenix.

A jewelry store explosion is conveniently pinned on the Phoenix, and the entire city begins to doubt the intentions of the virtuous vigilante. Even Martin questions his own tactics, wondering if Chicago will ever welcome his crime-fighting capers.

Can Martin clear his name? Or will the fire of the Phoenix be snuffed out forever?
