The last few weeks has seen the winding down of a few different projects, as well as the beginning of several more.
For starters, we’ve completed a comic book on BLESSED JAMES MILLER, a martyr born near Stevens Point, Wisconsin. We’ll be officially unveiling this comic book next week and will begin pre-orders next Wednesday. This is a project I’ve been especially interested in completing, as Brother James was born close to my hometown and attended the Catholic high school nearby. He was truly the “saint next door.“
Next, we are close to finishing our comic on EMIL KAPAUN, and will be sending it to the printer any day now.
In the background we’ve begun work on MEDAL KNIGHT #4 and EUCHARISTIC MIRACLES #3 and hope to have both completed by August/September.
On a side note, for anyone passing through Green Bay in early July, I’ll be present at the National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion during the CATHOLIC SAINTS OF AMERICA event. I’ll be there on July 2 and will give a short presentation for anyone there.
One of the biggest projects that we have undertaken is the animation of FATHER OTTO’S CHRISTMAS, a Christmas special that will require a whole team of animators. Our main goal at the moment is to animate 30-60 seconds of the special, which we will then use to pitch to investors and partners, in hopes that we will be able to secure the funds necessary for such an ambitious project.
While we could just use AI and magically create something, that’s something we simply don’t do at Voyage. We like to hire real people and the animation will be done through the old-fashioned, hand-drawn way.
We believe there is something even more “magical” when a human participates in the creative power of God. God has given all of us particular gifts and talents, and every time we create something, we become a “co-creator.” Furthermore, when humans create, we are able to listen to the inspirations of the Holy Spirit, a feature that AI programs can never replicate.
Plain and simple: humans can be inspired by God, making specific creative choices, and AI programs can not.
I’ll choose to go with humans every time.
Godspeed!
