Great News!
While we deliberately try not to make our comics too “preachy,” they are still infused with the Catholic faith and we use them as a means of evangelization.
With this in mind, we also wanted to make sure that our comics did not lead people astray or teach them erroneous things about the faith.
One way to ensure that we remain faithful to the timeless truths of Catholicism is to submit our comics for review to our local bishop. This is common practice, especially for theological books that are published.
We recently met with our local bishop (Bishop Gerard Battersby), and asked if we could submit our comics for review. He was favorable to the idea and appointed a theological expert to examine them.
The result is what’s called the “Nihil Obstat” and “Imprimatur.” They are terms that essentially say these comics do not have any theological error in them.
Here is the “official” wording:

This applies to our current titles, as we’ll be submitting each new title from here on out.
While it may not seem like very important news to some, there are many parents and grandparents out there that want to ensure their children and rooted in authentic Church teaching and are wary of most publications in the modern world.
This essentially gives you confidence that we aren’t trying to slip-in erroneous beliefs in our comics.
What’s interesting is that this applies both to our saint comics, but also to our fantasy and superhero comics!
