When the Continental Congress appointed George Washington as commander-in-chief of the Continental Army, Washington made it a priority to ensure his troops had access to religious chaplains.

The Chaplain Corps was approved by the Continental Congress on July 29, 1775, and this year marks the 250th anniversary of that founding.

To help highlight the heroic men and women who have served as part of the Chaplain Corps since its founding, Voyage Comics teamed-up with the U.S. Army Chaplain Corps to create an action-packed comic book.

Here is a little synopsis of the comic:

From George Washington’s founding of the Chaplain Corps, approved by the Continental Congress on July 29, 1775, to the present day, this comic book brings to life the stories of men and women who responded to a divine call to serve their country on the battlefield, giving spiritual aid when it is most needed.

Prepare to be encouraged and inspired by the heroic witness of these faith-filled chaplains. Many of them gave the ultimate sacrifice of their lives for the good of others.

Included in this comic are the following chaplains:

  • The “Four Chaplains” (George L. Fox, Alexander D. Goode, Clark V. Poling, and Fr. John P. Washington)
  • Fr. Charles J. Watters
  • Fr. Emil Kapaun
  • Calvin Titus
  • Fr. Francis P. Duffy

The comic book is available in a digital format for FREE on the U.S. Army’s website.

It is not for sale to the public, though if you live on a U.S. Military base, you’ll likely be able to snag a physical copy if you talk to your Chaplain!
