It’s been 6 years since I founded Voyage Comics on September 27, 2018! I chose that day intentionally as it is the feast day of Our Lady Star of the Sea!
I’ve written in the past how author J.R.R. Tolkien was also inspired by this title of Our Lady, and how a hymn/prayer inspired his hymns to “Elbereth.”
O Elbereth Starkindler,
from heaven gazing afar,
to thee I cry now beneath the shadow of death!

I’ll announce our plans for the future on the anniversary of our foundation, September 27.

Below is our first prayer, a prayer to Our Lady of Mount Carmel, whom the Carmelites also invoke under the title, Our Lady Star of the Sea (fun fact: the Carmelite monastery ON Mt. Carmel in Jerusalem is known as the “Stella Maris” monastery–Star of the Sea!)
O most beautiful Flower of Mount Carmel, fruitful vine, splendor of Heaven, Blessed Mother of the Son of God, Immaculate Virgin, assist me in this my necessity. O Star of the Sea, help me and show me herein that you are my Mother.
O Holy Mary, Mother of God, Queen of Heaven and earth, I humbly beseech you from the bottom of my heart, to succor me in this my necessity. There are none that can withstand your power. O show me herein that you are my Mother.
O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us that have recourse to thee.
