John Paul II returns to comics in our newest book!

In 1982, Marvel Comics published a biography on the first half of St. John Paul II’s life, informally making him the next “Marvel super-hero.”

Since then the beloved Polish pontiff hasn’t appeared in many comics, until now!

St. John Paul II is a central figure in our latest comic book for Voyage Comics, “Champion of the Poor: Father Joe Walijewski,” featuring the artistic talents of Michael LaVoy and Marvel/DC Comics colorer, Jay David Ramos.

It centers on the life of a simple Polish priest from Wisconsin, who felt God calling him to serve the poorest of the poor in South America.

Father Joe met St. John Paul II in 1979 and invited him to visit him in Peru.

And guess what, he did!

Not only that, St. John Paul II made a sizable donation that helped lay the foundation for an orphanage in Peru, which was later named “Casa Hogar Juan Pablo II,” in honor of John Paul II’s generosity.

Father Joe Walijewski was a holy man and his cause for canonization is currently underway! He has received the designation of, “Servant of God.”
