At the end of Finnian and the Seven Mountains #1, two of the main characters set off on a journey to find a lost sword with great power.
The second issue of this series will pick-up where the first issue left off as Finnian and Brendan reach the next location of their quest.
Once there, they will meet a new character who will join them in their adventure. The new character will be the first female character in the series.
As the first issue focused on a male monastic community, I wasn’t able to include a feminine presence. With the second issue, I will introduce a heroic young woman who will play a vital role as they progress closer to their goal.
As the father of four daughters, I felt compelled to create a female character that they can admire and aspire to be like. Too often in comics or graphic novels female characters are presented in a provocative manner, with superhero costumes that extremely inappropriate. I wanted to change that trend and Michael LaVoy is working on a female character who is beautiful, modest and heroic (above is a rough sketch as a preview).
Later on this week I will announce the name of this character as well as more information about her, with possibly a full color sketch of her.
